This article contains SPOILERS for Netflix's High WaterNetflix’s High Water is based on the true story of Wroclaw’s 1997 flood, also known as the Central European Flood, and it's exemplary in its accuracy in depicting the events leading up to and during the disaster. Wroclaw is the capital of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, a province in southwestern Poland, and was hit especially hard by the historic weather event.
