Futurama Reboot Features Coolio Recordings Before His Death

Futurama showrunner David X. Cohen has revealed Coolio, an American rapper who reached mainstream success in the 90s, did voice recordings for the Futurama reboot before his death. Coolio appeared in three episodes of Futurama’s original seven season run, which ended in 2013, as Kwanzaa-bot, one of the holiday-themed robots that have taken over the holidays in the future. Futurama has had trouble with cancelations and network ownership throughout its run beginning in 1999, with the show running for 4 seasons on Fox before moving to direct-to-video films and eventually Comedy Central, but has found its home at Hulu where it is expected to start releasing 20 new episodes as early as spring of 2023.
