American Idol: Christian Can’t Wait For Michael Bublé Duet At Finale

American Idol season 20 Top 7 finalist Christian Guardino may have exited the competition, but he's looking forward to his duet with Michael Bublé in the finale. Christian is a 22-year-old kitchen staff worker from Patchogue, New York. Christian was born with an inherited eye disease called Leber's congenital amaurosis, which has no treatment or cure and would eventually lead to him becoming blind. However, at age 13, he was a part of a clinical gene trial that led to a 75 to 80-percent improvement in his vision. At his audition, Christian blew away the judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy Perry at his audition with his rendition of "A Song for You" by Leon Russell, and earned his ticket to Hollywood.

Throughout the American Idol competition, Christian brought the house down with his powerhouse vocals. He brought his distinct style to all of his songs. During his mentoring session with Derek Hough for his Top 10 performance of "Circle of Life" from The Lion King on Disney Night, Christian was thrilled when Derek FaceTimed his idol Michael Bublé to encourage him. Christian advanced to the Top 7 during which he sang "Lonely" by Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco for his TikTok performance and "Dear God" by Smokie Norful for his Mother's Day dedication song. Host Ryan Seacrest surprised Christian with a video appearance from Michael, who promised to perform a duet with him at the finale. Christian was thrilled, but unfortunately, at the end of the night, he received the lowest number of votes and was eliminated from the competition alongside fellow finalist Jay Copeland.

He went on to say that he is so grateful for the entire experience, and that being on American Idol for the 20th season has been "a huge blessing." Christian shared all that the show has given him, writing, "I have learned so much, grown as an artist & gained new family for life AND I get to perform with the legend @michaelbuble."

The American Idol Top 7 finalist Christian concluded his post by saying that his journey "does NOT finish here.. as a matter of fact… I am more on fire and ready to fight for my spot in music than ever so KEEP WATCHING & LISTENING!" He promised his fans that new music from him is coming soon. Christian's post was filled with his usual gratitude and positivity. His determination to keep going in the face of adversity is the reason that he will surely be successful in his next venture.

The duet between Christian and Michael on the American Idol season 20 finale is one of the most anticipated performances of the season. Their voices will blend together beautifully. Christian may not have won the competition, but he has a special place in the hearts of American Idol fans.
