Attack on Titan's Eren Jaeger Becomes Spider-Man in Spectacular New Fanart

The shared tragedies of Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man and Attack on Titan’s Eren Jaeger shaped them into the characters they were destined to become, and in a spectacular new piece of fan art, the two separate characters become one. Both Spider-Man and Eren Jaeger lost their parental figures to tragedy which made them each pursue a life of heroism. While the characters themselves couldn’t be more different, this fan art imagines what Spider-Man would be like if his secret identity was Eren Jaeger instead of Peter Parker.

Peter Parker fully became the hero Spider-Man when he witnessed the death of his Uncle Ben in Amazing Fantasy #15 by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Similarly, Eren Jaeger decided to fight for humanity after watching his mother get eaten by a Titan after the monsters breached the protective walls around his village and killed everyone they got their hands on. Eren later found out that he had the ability to transform into a Titan at will and used his superpower to fight for the betterment of mankind, just like Spider-Man. While the similarities between Eren Jaeger and Spider-Man are striking, the two become one person in this astonishing fan art.

In a Tweet by Staticfeels, the artist posted a picture of Spider-Man without his mask on, and the face underneath is revealed to be Eren Jaeger of Attack on Titan. The Spidey-suit is reminiscent of the character’s costume in the film Spider-Man: Far From Home. The version of Eren Jaeger drawn wearing Spider-Man’s outfit is one of a later chapter of the manga series when the hopeful and eager child version of Eren metaphorically dies after being exposed to the harsh realities of his world.

While the two characters are similar in their origin, Spider-Man and Eren Jaeger are completely different as their respective series go on. Spider-Man has had his darker moments in the comics but has always reverted back to his heroic ways and does what is right in nearly every situation. While Eren Jaeger originally had the same heroic mindset as Spidey, he quickly fell victim to the corruption of his world and basically became a villain by the end of Attack on Titan. Eren becomes responsible for the death of 80 percent of the Earth in an effort to save his people and eliminate the Titans once and for all. While his actions yielded good results, Eren crossed the line that separates hero from villain and does something Spider-Man would never do.

Despite their similarities and differences, Spider-Man and Eren Jaeger mashed up in this piece of fan art is super cool to see for any and all fans of both Spider-Man and Attack on Titan. The unexpected fan art crossover makes fans wonder what the Marvel world would be like if Eren Jaeger was actually Spider-Man, and based on Eren’s track record, it is safe to assume his version of Spider-Man would be someone the Punisher would be proud to know. Attack on Titan’s Eren Jaeger becomes Spider-Man in spectacular new fan art, and Marvel fans should be grateful that the mash-up isn’t canon.
