Phasmophobia: How to Find (& Use) Tortured Voodoo Doll

Players can use the Tortured Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia to help reveal a ghost's location, but they will need to find the item first. The Tortured Voodoo Doll is one of six new Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia, along with the Music Box, Ouija Board, Haunted Mirror, Summoning Circle, and Tarot Cards. Only one of these items will spawn randomly in a level, so if players see one of the other five, then they won't be able to find a Tortured Voodoo Doll for that contract.

To use the Tortured Voodoo Doll, players will need to pick it up with nothing else equipped. Players can interact with the pins to cause the ghost they're investigating to interact with the environment. This will reveal the ghost's location if players are having a hard time finding it. Players that push in the heart pin will automatically trigger a Hunt in Phasmophobia, and using any of the pins will affect the player's Sanity. If Sanity levels are below 10%, using any of the pins on the Tortured Voodoo Doll will also trigger a Hunt. Pins are pushed in at random whenever the player interacts with the doll.

Using the Tortured Voodoo Doll will affect both the ghost and the character using it, so players should be cautious when interacting with this item. The Tortured Voodoo Doll can be found in a variety of locations depending on what map players are investigating. The spawn points don't change, but there are multiple possibilities for where the item can spawn as well as a one-in-six chance that the Tortured Voodoo Doll is on the map during a given contract.

Each of the 10 available maps in Phasmophobia has multiple locations where the Tortured Voodoo Doll may spawn. Many of them can be found in bedrooms or main hallways, but there are a few maps in Phasmophobia, like the Prison, Asylum, or Maple Lodge Campground, where the Tortured Voodoo Doll spawn points are less obvious. Players can look for a Tortured Voodoo Doll in the following locations:

  • Foyer
  • Office
  • First floor hallway
  • Upstairs hallway
  • Attic
  • Large blue bedroom
  • Basement
  • Living room
  • Small blue bedroom
  • Orange bedroom
  • Master bedroom

Although the Tortured Voodoo Doll can be in many different locations, players should also look out for other Cursed Possessions to determine whether or not the doll is even in the level. Using the Tortured Voodoo Doll will have random effects on the player's sanity in Phasmophobia, so it should only be used when necessary, like if the player can't find the ghost at all. Although it can reveal the ghost's location, it may also trigger a Hunt, so players should be ready to run if needed. The Tortured Voodoo Doll is one of six new Cursed Possessions included in Phasmophobia.
