Adam Warlock Holds The Infinity Stones In Cool MCU Artwork

Will Poulter holds the awesome power of the Infinity Stones as Adam Warlock in an artwork depicting the future cosmic Marvel Cinematic Universe hero who is set to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Adam Warlock was first teased in a line by Elizabeth Debecki's Ayesha in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 in 2017. In October, Poulter was cast as Adam Warlock and he will make his debut in Gunn's trilogy-capping MCU entry. .

Despite only being recently cast, Adam Warlock's presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was confirmed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Following her defeat at the hands of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Golden High Priestess of the Sovereign Ayesha (Debecki) vows revenge on the Guardians, intending to create a powerful artificial being to destroy the team of misfit heroes, sitting before an advanced Sovereign birth pod and uttering "I think I shall call him...Adam". Now that Poulter has been cast as Adam Warlock, fans have begun to imagine how the actor would look at the powerful cosmic being.

Created by VFX/Graphic artist Salman Artworks and posted to their Twitter account, the artwork features Poulter in a costume that could fit within the styles of the MCU. Poulter's Adam Warlock design features many iconic elements of the character, such as his golden skin, long blonde hair, and red cape. Before the hero is the six Infinity Stones, with each of the Stones hovering just above Warlock's grasp, inspired by the character's cosmic history. Check out Salman Artworks' piece below:

Adam Warlock has a long history with the Infinity Stones (then called Infinity Gems) in the comics. In 1972's Marvel Premiere #2, Warlock comes across the villain High Evolutionary, who requests Warlock help him save the world known as Counter-Earth from the wrath of the Man-Beast and gives him the then-named Soul gem. Warlock then fought the Universal Church of Truth (who he faces in Eidos-Montréal's Guardians of the Galaxy video game) and his evil alter-ego Magus while possessing the gem. Warlock would then join other Marvel heroes to face Thanos in The Infinity Gauntlet storyline.

Though he has a long, in-depth history with the Infinity Stones, it is unlikely that Adam Warlock will ever come close to wielding the powerful artifacts in the MCU, due to Thanos destroying the Stones in Avengers: Endgame. However, with Gamora (Zoe Saldana) being tied to Soulworld due to Thanos (Josh Brolin) sacrificing her, and the Guardians in search of their fallen comrade, it is possible Marvel Studios could take inspiration from Adam Warlock's history with the gem in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3. For now, fans will have to be teased of Adam Warlock's immense potential power in Salman Artwork's brilliant artwork.
