Genshin Impact 2.2 Update Adds Thoma & New Hangout Events

The Genshin Impact 2.2 update is live, and the patch notes detail new character Thoma, a fresh Inazuma region location, more weapons, and plenty of additional content. MiHoYo's free-to-play RPG is ever-expanding thanks to frequent content releases and events, and the recent Genshin Impact 2.2 livestream gave players a taste of what ultimately arrived in the game's latest update

Each Genshin Impact update introduces sizable amounts of content to explore, and update 2.2 is no different. The update was previously revealed to add new items for the game's Serenitea Pot homemaking system, such as furniture based on the island region of Inazuma. The "Labyrinth Warriors" event was also detailed, which tasks players with navigating a mysterious domain in order to earn various rewards. The final island of Inazuma, Tsurumi Island, was also shown in the island, capping off the 2.0 region's major locations. Genshin Impact 2.2 also brings Thoma, a fresh playable hero to wish for in the game's gacha system.

Genshin Impact's Version 2.2 update drops another decent helping of things to see and do in the free-to-play game. As always, miHoYo still shows no signs of stopping as it moves towards Genshin Impact 2.3 and beyond. The developer recently announced playable Genshin Impact character Arataki Itto, who will be added to the game sometime in the future. The mace-wielding gang leader will is not part of Version 2.2, but chances are high he will arrive in a near-future update.

New and old Genshin Impact players have a fair amount new content to tear through now that the 2.2 update is live. The island of Inazuma has been expanded once again, allowing adventurers to explore the stormy island of Tsurumi. Thoma also looks to be an interesting addition to the Genshin Impact playable character roster, focusing on area-of-effect fire damage that will hopefully make him useful in a fight. And, of course, a duo of fresh hangout events are bound to be some players' favorite new addition in Genshin Impact 2.2
