10 Pokémon That Would Make Great Superheroes | Screen Rant

Pokémon have incredible and awe-inspiring abilities. These creatures have considerable destructive powers, but they choose to use their gifts for good. They are kind and supportive, ideal companions who go out of their way to protect their world.

Some Pokémon are selfless by nature, making them heroes in their world. However, some of them would actually be amazing superheroes even in traditional comic books. Whether due to their kind instincts or their convenient abilities, these Pokémon could go toe-to-toe with Superman himself and give the Man of Steel a run for his money.

Jigglypuff may be a cute-looking Pokémon, but it's really kind of terrifying. This pink balloon is a ball of rage hiding behind a pair of adorable eyes. Its body allows it to float and soar to immense heights while also preventing it from suffering any significant damage.

If this state of near-invulnerability wasn't enough to grant Jigglypuff a place among Earth's mightiest heroes, its ability to put others to sleep is. One note from this cotton-candy-like creature and multiple enemies would fall into a deep slumber, ending the battle without any need for violence.

For 25 years, the Pokémon franchise has had an absolute star, and it's Pikachu. This yellow mouse is the most iconic Pokémon in Generation I and perhaps the most famous one ever. It may be small in size, but if the anime proved anything, it's that it packs quite the punch.

Indeed, Pikachu is fast, fierce and electrifying (literally). Its attacks are mighty, capable of destroying entire structures without even tiring. In a battle against, say, Darkseid's Parademons, Pikachu could zap them back to Apokolips, taking several of them at once and defeating them all.

Blaziken commands attention everywhere it goes, ranking as one of the best Fire-type starter Pokémon. This chicken-like creature is among the mightiest Pokémon in Hoenn. Thanks to mega evolution, it becomes even more impressive, cementing its place as a flaming powerhouse.

Thanks to its design, Blaziken already looks like a superhero of sorts — it even wears a mask. Indeed, all it's missing is a team to support in battle. Blaziken would fit in perfectly with the Avengers or the Justice League. Its mix of martial arts expertise and fire attacks would make it a valuable member of either organization.

Arguably the most beloved Gen III Pokémon, Gardevoir has some impressive abilities to match its acclaimed reputation. As one of the strongest Psychic-type Pokémon ever, Gardevoir can create tiny black holes and even distort dimensions. However, it also has a strong sense of right and wrong and near-absolute loyalty for those it loves.

Gardevoir would be the ideal teammate to have. It would never leave anyone behind and would risk it all to protect its squad. Gardevoir's abilities would also come in handy, making it a less unstable alternative to the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Universe.

According to the 2020 Pokémon of the Year contest, Greninja is the most popular Pokémon in the franchise. That makes sense considering it has a very appealing and original design based on the evergreen concept of ninjas. Both of its forms, standard and Ash-Greninja, are also very superhero-like, making it a logical choice for any team of supers.

Greninja's former signature move, Water Shuriken, would be incredible superhero power. Plus, its agility, speed, and stealth would make it a valuable teammate on missions and a more than worthy substitute for the archers in the Avengers and the Justice League.

Any Pokémon inspired by Son-Goku has an instant place among the best superheroes. However, that's not all Infernape has going on for it. A powerful Pokémon in its own right, Infernape is the best starter Pokémon to choose in Generation IV.

Infernape practices a unique form of martial arts that further distinguishes it from all other Pokémon. Beyond all its physical gifts, Infernape also has the spirit of a warrior. It actively seeks battle to prove itself, and while its pride might make it a somewhat troublesome teammate, its contributions would be unparalleled.

Dragonite is one of the most heroic Pokémon ever. It travels across the seas, rescuing ships caught in the storm and guiding them to safety. Dragonite is a naturally selfless creature that actively seeks people in need and helps them avoid a fatal end.

Thanks to its human-like intelligence, Dragonite is a perfect fit for any heroic team. Its status as a pseudo-legendary Pokémon also means it is incredibly powerful and fast; the Pokédex even mentions that it can circle the globe in just 16 hours. Dragonite could be an excellent support member of the Justice League, flying alongside Superman to rescue people in need.

The Master of Illusions could go a few rounds with Doctor Strange, the Master of the Mystic Arts, before even getting tired. Zoroark is one of the most intriguing Pokémon in the entire franchise. It can create illusions capable of deluding several people simultaneously.

Zoroark can also assume a human form, becoming capable of speech. This unique ability might make it easier for other superheroes to accept it into their ranks. Zoroark's power would be ideal to supper other magic-based heroes such as Doctor Fate or Zatanna. In fact, Zoroark is a perfect fit for the Justice League Dark.

Like Greninja, Lucario is also wildly popular. It might also be the strongest dual-type Generation IV Pokémon thanks to an advantageous type combination and its trademark aura abilities. As demonstrated by the Super Smash Bros. series, Lucario is also a capable fighter, able to hold its own among the best of the best.

Lucario is also capable of human speech, making its interactions with other teammates all the easier. Furthermore, its ability to mega-evolve gives it an edge over any enemy. Lucario is very prideful, but is still a team player, although it might be challenging for it to get along with others.

As one of the best and mightiest legendary Pokémon ever, Mewtwo is already a superhero in its own right. It has a wide range of powers that make it nearly invincible, and it's not afraid to use them. Furthermore, it's capable of human speech and is far more intelligent than the average human, making it the whole package.

The best thing about Mewtwo is that it could be a compelling hero or villain, depending on who got to it first. Any fan could imagine it fighting alongside the Justice League just as easily as they could see it chilling with Lex Luthor and the Secret Society of Super Villains.
