RHOA: Why Marlo Hampton Still Hasn't Gotten The Peach She Deserves

As fans await the new The Real Housewives of Atlanta season, some wonder why Marlo Hampton isn't a full-time cast member. RHOA devotees are speculating about which cast members will be returning and which have made their final appearances. Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams, Kandi Burruss, and Cynthia Bailey are a few of the long-time housewives that fans have seen on their screens year after year. Even newer cast members like Drew Sidora, who made her debut last season, have made an impact on viewers and create a buzz in the press. The cast's weekly fights, feuds, and fun have kept the show strong for over a decade.

However, it is not just the main housewives who help the show to thrive. Over the course of the series, many "friends of" have made appearances. One of those women who has been involved in many of the show's iconic moments is Marlo. Originally a friend of Nene Leakes, Marlo came on many girls' trips and often butted heads with fellow cast members. After myriad seasons on the show, she has never managed to secure a coveted peach.

Although Marlo has been a central part of many key scenes in the show's history, she hasn't quite managed to find a place in the circle of women. This may be due to some of the controversial statements she has made and her history of feuds with the other housewives. After alienating many of the women over the years, it's entirely likely that she has no allies on the show. Since she's constantly on the outs with the rest of the cast, while potentially being a source of tension and drama, she would be a contentious full-time casting choice.

Marlo has major trouble getting along with the other women, although she looks angelic in the Instagram post shown above. Not only did she feud with Porsha Williams, but viewers struggled to figure out exactly why they started butting heads. This isn't the first time this has happened, either. She has fallen out with Nene Leakes, Kenya Moore, Kandi Burruss, Shereé Whitfield, and Kim Zolciak-Biermann, and that list of names just scratches the surface. While Nene, Shereé, and Kim have left the show, Marlo being a full-fledged cast member who has a history of animosity with the other women may cause serious problems for the show.

These feuds were no accident. Marlo famously clashed with Shereé in South Africa and used a derogatory slur. Although she apologized for the statement, fans have likely not forgotten what she said. Given that Shereé may be returning for the upcoming season, producers may not want to open up old wounds and subject the cast to more scrutiny. Even if Marlo never ends up getting a peach, her impact on the show (and the drama she has created) really resonates. Her legacy as a "friend of" The Real Housewives of Atlanta cannot be denied.
