How to Unlock All Costumes in Tales of Arise | Screen Rant

As with previous games in the franchise, Tales of Arise does not shy away from giving players a plentitude of costume choices for their characters. Some of these costumes come from simply progressing regularly through the game while others are claimed as rewards for quests and finding secrets. There are just so many costumes that players may need assistance in finding them all.

Outfits in Tales of Arise can be changed at practically any time, giving players the unique ability to change their character’s appearance at any stage in the game. Cosmetic items have always been a core value of the franchise and many players can appreciate this new installment’s blend of new and old.

On top of the full costumes found in the game, there are also several cosmetic items that can be attached alongside the costumes. Crowns, barrettes, glasses, animal ears, and tails are just some of the items able to be added to character costumes. This gives players the ability to truly customize their beautifully rendered characters to their heart’s content as they advance through the story.

This is how to get every costume for every character in Tales of Arise, sans DLC content:

Costumes for Alphen

  • ‘Ragged Clothes’ is Alphen’s starting costume.
  • ‘Ocean Blue Battle Garb’ is a costume given to the player in the main story of the game and cannot be missed while completing it. This is also true for ‘Midnight Battle Garb’ which is a gift from the Owl King, and ‘Gahm Arthalys’.
  • ‘Sincleaver Armor’ also can’t be missed as it is found in the main story.
  • ‘Silver Sincleaver Armor’ and ‘Copper Sincleaver Armor’ are both rewards for finding 17 of the 38 owl locations in-game.
  • ‘Gold Sincleaver Armor’ is obtained by completing the novice group battle at the Viscint training ground.
  • ‘Farmer’s Clothes’ is a reward for completing the Pharia Ranch side quest – The Stud from the Planes.
  • ‘Clerk Uniform’ is a reward for the late-game side quest Global Connection, found in Mosgul.
  • ‘Tunica Rene’ is another owl-finding reward, this time for finding 36 owls.
  • ‘Steamy Towel’ is the reward for completing the Brave New World side quest in Cyslodia’s Fountain Plaza Avenue, also late in the game.

Costumes for Rinwell

  • ‘Inherited Coat’ is Rinwell’s starting costume.
  • ‘Scarlet Inherited Coat’ and ‘Blue Inherited Coat’ are both rewards for finding 13 owls.
  • ‘Lunar Inherited Coat’ is obtained by completing the novice group battle at the Viscent training ground.
  • ‘Farmer’s Clothes’ is a reward for completing the Pharia Ranch side quest – The Stud from the Planes.
  • ‘Clerk Uniform’ is a reward for the late-game side quest Global Connection, found in Mosgul.
  • ‘Steamy Towel’ is the reward for completing A Humbling Lesson side quest in Cyslodia’s Fountain Plaza Avenue, also late in the game.

Costumes for Shionne

  • ‘White One Piece’ is Shionne’s starting costume.
  • ‘Nobel Scarlet,’ ‘Twilight One Piece,’ and ‘L'Aze Phiarquis’ are obtained in the main story and cannot be missed.
  • ‘Nobel Blossom’ and ‘Nobel Crimson’ are both rewards for finding 10 owls.
  • ‘Nobel Azure’ is obtained by completing the novice group battle at the Viscent training ground.
  • ‘Farmer’s Clothes’ is a reward for completing the Pharia Ranch side quest – The Stud from the Planes.
  • ‘Clerk Uniform’ is a reward for the late-game side quest Global Connection, found in Mosgul.
  • ‘Tunica Rene’ is a reward for finding 36 owls.

Costumes for Law

  • ‘Bureau Uniform’ is Law’s starting costume.
  • ‘Silver Wolf Vest’ is obtained in the main story and cannot be missed.
  • ‘Wolfless Vest,’ ‘Green Wolf Vest,’ and ‘Red-Black Wolf Vest’ are all rewards for finding 21 owls.
  • ‘Red-White Wolf Vest’ is obtained by completing the intermediate group battle at the Viscent training ground.
  • ‘Farmer’s Clothes’ is a reward for completing the Pharia Ranch side quest – The Stud from the Planes.
  • ‘Clerk Uniform’ is a reward for the late-game side quest Global Connection, found in Mosgul.
  • ‘Steamy Towel’ is the reward for completing the Brave New World side quest in Cyslodia’s Fountain Plaza Avenue, also late in the game.

Costumes for Kisara

  • ‘Guardsman Armor’ is Kisara’s starting costume.
  • ‘Night Guardsman Armor’ and ‘Aquatic Guardsman Armor’ are rewards for finding 32 owls.
  • ‘Decoy Guardsman Armor’ is obtained by completing the intermediate group battle at the Viscent training ground.
  • ‘Farmer’s Clothes’ is a reward for completing the Pharia Ranch side quest – The Stud from the Planes.
  • ‘Clerk Uniform’ is a reward for the late-game side quest Global Connection, found in Mosgul.

Costumes for Dohalim

  • ‘il Qaras Traditional Attire’ is Dohalim’s starting costume.

  • ‘il Qaras Dancing Attire’ is obtained by completing the intermediate group battle at the Viscent training ground.
  • ‘Farmer’s Clothes’ is a reward for completing the Pharia Ranch side quest – The Stud from the Planes.
  • ‘Clerk Uniform’ is a reward for the late-game side quest Global Connection, found in Mosgul.
  • ‘Tunica Rene’ is a reward for finding 36 owls.

Most of these Tales of Arise costumes are, of course, optional. Gathering them all will not necessarily help players on their main-story journey. However, the ability to customize characters has always been a staple of the franchise, and long-time fans will likely appreciate the continued support of their customizations. New fans can also find an easy outlet in enjoying this feature in between quests and difficult battles. It can only add to the other gorgeous elements of this JRPG.
